Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. While in a hypnotic trance, one usually feels calm and relaxed.
When we are in a fully alert and conscious state, our conscious mind is critiquing and judging everything we do and suggest to ourselves. Hypnosis allows us to bypass the conscious, critical mind and speak directly to the subconscious mind where our feelings reside. Typically, our subconscious mind has all the skills and resources necessary to heal ourselves from the inside out.
Hypnosis works by targeting specific areas of the brain. It has been shown to help with brain control over both sensations and behavior. Hypnosis can be used clinically for:
Chronic Pain • IBS • Depression • Anxiety • Phobias • Stress reduction
Weight loss • Smoking cessation • …and much more
Many people fear that they will lose control while in a hypnotic trance. This is not true. While your subconscious mind WILL be more open to suggestion, your free will remains intact and you do NOT lose control over your behaviors. You WILL NOT do anything will in a hypnotic trance that you would not be willing to do in a fully alert state.
